About Me

My name is Yetunde Mitchell and I recently embarked upon a life changing journey. I was born in Chicago, IL and grew up in a small suburb south of there. I eventually went to college at Purdue University-Calumet and earned my degree in Secondary English Education. As soon as I got married, and my husband and I moved to the perfect little home in the country, with our two dogs, God told us to pack up our things and go!

Although theoretically it was hard to leave our two full-time jobs, and initially even our dogs behind, we were excited that at least the place God was taking us was sunny California. You gotta look on the bright side right? But jobless and counting every dollar in our savings account, we needed God to create a miracle right away! So we waited, and waited, and waited, and waited some more, and in the midst of our waiting God had been telling me to write. So I did. But by the time my first book was completed and being sold on Amazon, God was telling us to move, again!

Wedding Reception 2011
This time He was taking us to Vegas! So for three months while Aaron attended classes; I stayed in Vegas, and did what God kept telling me to do, writing. Although, I had no idea where my writing was going to take me, and still don’t. I trust in the Lord that He has a plan and a purpose for my life.

He literally took me to two places that I just knew I would never live- California and Las Vegas! As a Chicago girl at heart, if you would have ever asked me, at the ripe old age of 21, if I would ever live anywhere else in my lifetime, I would have probably said no. That’s how connected I thought I was to my hometown. But that’s also how God works. He will take you from believing something so totally to realizing how little you actually know.

I hope truly that you will surrender your path into God’s hands and let him take you on your own special journey. I’ve got plenty of road to walk until the end of my journey, so I’ll keep you updated on the fun, faith-testing, and exhilarating roller coaster called my life!

“The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don’t wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope.”
― Barack Obama

Why I Started The Foundation

I started The Purposeful Changes Foundation in order to help people pin down their purpose in life. I'm a firm believer that God has a plan for you, and that following that plan can help you feel more fulfilled. It's so much easier to have the joy of Christ when you're living the life your body, mind, and soul were meant to live. The vision for the foundation is to match individuals using a "purpose profile" and provide the tools needed to effectively, at the best of our ability, lead one to their calling. The implementation of a calling is often the hard part, which is why we provide our spiritual support and guidance in order to help you as much as we can.

We know that some individuals have some worldly needs that need to be met, because we all have various circumstances. So we also try and match individuals to other non-profits, churches or government aids that can assist with those needs. We are currently building our database of non-profits, and hope to have those done by the end of the summer 2015.

The ultimate goal of the foundation is to support other non-profits, and the men and women out there who are already giving back. There are thousands of foundations and organizations that need a helping hand physically and financial, and the Purposeful Changes Foundation was created to do just that. Physically by guiding individuals to organizations where they can volunteer and serve, and financially by raising funds whatever way we can, and donating the money to organizations. Click on the Purposeful Changes Foundation tab and find out which organizations we're helping this year!
